Birds -- New England, July 2010

We visited friends who had rented a house on the coast at Deer Isle, Maine, July 9-14, 2010. We flew into Boston and drove from there; in transit I photographed Piping Plovers at Revere Beach near Logan Airport, and then in southern Maine a very cooperative Upland Sandpiper at Kennebunk Plain, plus Common Terns (and one blurry Salt-marsh Sparrow) at Scarborough Marsh and Pine Point. Our delightful time at Deer Isle was not mainly devoted to bird photography, but I managed photos of four species of warblers, a White-throated Sparrow, Black Guillemots, Common Eiders, and a Bald Eagle.
