One of a pair that in 2017 nested in a tree on the grounds of a suburban elementary school to the amazement of many, and now appears to be repeating the performance in 2018. The Sunday morning I visited, this female was perched on a power tower next to the school playing field; other birders reported that the male had been at the school site earlier, and had flown off, apparently to forage.
