Vermilion Flycatcher, first-cycle male

Cypress Lawn Cemetery, Colma

The bird is perched on a tombstone in Cypress Lawn Cemetery, watching for insects in the grass. The tail is dipped, a motion that Vermillions share with certain other flycatchers: the phoebes, and the Gray.
