A distant shot, my only one of this species in breeding plumage. Distinguished from the breeding-plumage American Golden-Plover by the white shown on the flanks where the American shows solid black. Both species nest in the tundra around Nome. This individual's upperpart feathers show much less yellow than is usual for the species.
