Birds -- Monterey Bay, Aptos, December 2018

We had a week-long family Christmas gathering in a rental house overlooking Monterey Bay from the bluff above New Brighton State Beach in Santa Cruz County, December 21-28. There were clear skies and excellent light all but one day, with good beach and surf bird activity -- shorebirds, pelicans, grebes, loons, scoters -- plus woodpeckers and other landbirds in the state park campground up on the bluff. Best photo-ops were the shorebirds.
