THE STORY OF STUMPY

This is a gallery of images of Stumpy. Stumpy is a goose that has a deformed foot which got him his name. Charlie, a local plumber and bird helper at the park, takes care of Stumpy. He picks him up each morning and drops him off in the afternoon to hang out with his friends. Stumpy seems to like to play in traffic during the day and to keep him from getting injured Charlie takes him under his wing, so to speak. Enjoy the images. There will be more to come as Charlie is out there everyday and every time I get the chance to get out to the lake I will get a few more images. Stumpy has feathered friends as well as the human kind.

Wow, this is such an emotional story. How man and goose triumphed over the tragedy of birth deformity, and yet in the end nature came calling. Your pictures tell the story beautifully. Voted.

Bless Stumpy's heart.He had a wonderful caring friend in Charlie and happened upon a great photographer named Cindi to tell his story.I would say Stumpy was blessed with his imperfection.Thanks for telling Stumpy's story in pictures and doing it so well.

Charles and I have a website for the birds at White Rock. It is friendsofwilbur.weebly.com. Stumpy has his own page on our website. The site is named for Wilbur, the big white gander that is head of the whole goose gaggle.
