TYPICAL SCENE IN NORTH TEXAS

Fort Worth, TX

Driving through my area today, this was a typical scene. Huge trees uprooted, damaged homes, vehicles and signs as well as business were effected early this morning. The storm that came through around 3:30 A.M. only lasted a few minutes but the straight line winds and tornados it held damaged a lot of lives. Thankfully, no one was killed as far as I know and very, very few injuries, mostly minor. I slept through the whole thing. My house and property are all intact, thank the Lord! But others were not as lucky. It does bring out the good in folks, though, people helping each other out in their hour of need. I always think the reason for things like this happening is to serve as a reminder that life is short and we should not hold dear the earthly things but look to God for our happiness. To not dwell on the material things but to be thankful for the people in our lives that enrich us daily. To realize that we are only here for a short time but what we do while we are here can affect generations to come so keep that in mind and reach out your hand to someone in need when you can. You never know when you have saved a life.

An all too familiar image to me. Luckily the house is spared. I guess it is moving our way.

People somtime ask 'why does god let these disasters happen'. You are exacly right, to remind us of our humanity... to remind us to constantly look at our priorities.

They are just now mentioning this on tonight's news. I agree w/your comments, and the shot certainly makes the point.
