This guy was no more than about 25 or so feet from me. I was walking on the pathway through the marshes near Holly Beach, LA when I spotted him. No barrier at all between us. He easily could have come across the short waterway between me and him. I didn't stick around too long. This was one of about 10 or so we saw that day. Alligators are living well in Southwestern Louisiana.
