GOODBYE MY BELOVED COMPANION

My Sadie passed away today around 10:00 A.M. She had been sick since last week and steadily got worse. Doc confirmed it was kidney failure this morning, so I took her in. We laid her to rest and she is no longer in pain.

However, I'm very sad right now. She was my little buddy, my shadow, my confidant, my companion and my little girl. I loved her so much and she is already missed terribly. Tears fall as I write this and it is going to take me a long time to get over it. I keep thinking I hear her scratching at the backdoor to be let back in. I think I hear her breathing and I look down and she isn't there under my feet as I work on the computer. No longer will she sleep next to my side. But one day, I'll meet her on the Rainbow Bridge and we will run together again forever.

Rest in Peace, my beautiful little Sadie Girl! I love you and I know you loved me. We made a great team. Zekie misses you too. He's right here beside me. One day we'll all be together again.

This is so hard after years of love from an animal - she had the best a dog could wish for with you! Max is 13 and I dread the event which only an animal ower can possibly understand.

Oh Cindi, I am so sorry. She was in pain and you made the right decision, but that doesn't make it hurt less. She was such a great and faithful friend.

I wish I was there to give you a big hug. It is always to sad for those of us who are left behind. You gave her a very good life and lots of love. She gave you the same, in return. I'm crying now, because I have been through this a few times and it is not easy to get over. But you DO feel better on each day that passes. Cry your eyes out and in a little while, you won't have any tears left and it will be time to remember her fondly and smile when you think of her.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Cindi it is never easy to lose our best friend. I only wish I could wipe your tears away; but I can't see past mine after reading your beautiful dedication to Sadie. Heartfelt prayers and hugs coming your way.
