ASLEEP

Fort Worth, TX

This is Ed...I've talked to him a couple of times and bought him lunch. He sleeps under a bridge at night nearby. I didn't want to disturb him as he was asleep so I left his lunch on the bench next to him. He has some issues but no one should have to live like this.

You have a generous heart, Cindi. I hope he's happy in his life but wonder what his life story is.

He's one of my guys (that I don't happen to know yet Cindi)! I spent 3 1/2 hours in a tiny doctors exam room with a homeless man with terrible foot problems and a knee and shoulder that won't work. At least we took the first step towards repair. Now he needs a house.

A disturbing photo with your unbiased lens. I have to wonder what were the many, many causes that brought this man to this point in his life. You do very good work.

Sometimes there are people who want to live like this and living a conventional style is too confining for them. You are helping him and that is good.

I recently saw the Jamie Fox/Robert Downey, Jr. movie, "The Soloist". This image, and your commentary about it, very much reminded me of that movie.
