Where there was beach there is none...you used to be able to walk under the pier. The rocks piled against the seawall once were jetties but were washed ashore. The hole in the left upper side of the hotel shows the power of the storm. It looked like a huge sledgehammer took a bite out of it. Only the exit at the hotel is able to be driven on but even that is considered dangerous. They are only letting a few people in to assess the damage to see if the building is salvageable. It is the oldest hotel on the island and the only built on a pier. It has seen numerous storms in its past but was this the one that will bring it down? Not sure as of now.
