Super Macro

The photos in this gallery were taken with Canon S3 IS and S5 IS compact digital cameras. I am using an old Olympus OM1 50mm lens, and the rings needed to reverse mount it. At this high a magnification depth of field is very shallow and I cannot expect to get everything in focus, even when photographing a butterfly wing. The focus and shutter time delay of P&S cameras also poses a problem, especially when photographing tiny creatures like spider mites that are moving. Regardless, I am impress by what the camera can do, and I'm sure having fun experimenting.
