Savegre Accommodations and Habitat

The accommodations at Savegre were very comfortable, and all rooms, because of the high altitude and how cold it gets at night, are equiped with either space heaters or have fireplaces. Meals were very good and the deserts were killers. Savegre is blessed with a number of trails, and even the main road, which has very little traffic, is very good for birding. The road behind the lodge, which can be driven if one has a 4-wheel drive vehicle, dead-ends in an oak forest. Walking this road, or any of the trails that lead off from the road, can be quite productive for birding.
