Don't think I ever went on a trip before where everyone in the group (in this case six people) saw all of their targets. These were (cumulatively): Pygymy, Hawk, Great Grey, Ural and Tengmalm's Owls, Eurasian Three-toed Woodpecker, Hazelhen, Blyth's Reed Warbler, Pine Grosbeak, Siberian Jay and Siberian Tit. Excellent supporting cast including lots of boreal ducks (Smew and Velvet Scoter among the best), Terek Sandpiper displaying, Little Gull, River Warbler, singing Red-flanked Bluetail, Bramblings in their finery, Black Grouse, Capercaillie, White-tailed Eagle, Black Woodpecker, Little Bunting and even a vagrant adult Rose-coloured Starling. Not bad for three days (and nights) in the field!
