Grass snake

Natrix natrix

Another juvenile specimen of the "couleuvre" species that
are fairly common in our region but rarely seen. They try
to keep as far away from people as they possibly can but
they just do not realize that home interiors are not really
the place for them. This one was kindly presented to me by
Tigre, our cat. In exchange for kitten milk I managed to
divert the cat's attention and release this beauty back in
our garden... but not before grabbing a few shots of this
pencil sized beauty. Another beautiful yet harmless creature.

Brilliant shot! Snakes are no longer indigenous here - it's said St.Patrick banished them. -v-
