Himantoglossum hircinum

This is quite a large species and towers above the already tall grass. I was not sure what to expect from this species of orchid as it just kept on growing without blooming. They are about 50-75cm high and grow on the same grounds as the pyramidal orchid and the spider orchids but they are also common in the roadside ditches as well as along the woodland trails. They are another species that cannot be considered rare in this region.
