Ophrys Apifera

Les Leves et Thoumeyragues

The bee orchid... When I saw the first one in April I was all excited. Then I saw two and in the weeks that followed they started sprouting up just about everywhere. Now in mid May (20 May 2007) they almost give the meadows a purple haze. Thankfully they are not very rare in this region.

Ophrys cornuta est une espèce que l'on trouve à l'est du bassin méditéranéen (Italie côte adriatique, Grèce). Ici il s'agit d'Ophrys apifera.
