Hi Kees. I was very much struck by this photo. When one thinks of Paris, one thinks of the colors of spring, the art of Renoir, Matisse, Monet. But this photo has that stark look of winter, the trees bare, the dark clouds, almost totally dominant in hhe sky....And it is Paris without a boat in the river and not a soul on the streets... it is Paris isolated and alone... out of character .... listless. But, rising above the scene, there is a little rise of light, just enough to suggest that perhaps a better day is coming... a new dawn....hope. All my best, Michael.
