One motorscooter, one rain poncho -- enough for a family of four

Motorscooters dominate the city of Hanoi. There are at least 100 (maybe 1000!) scooters for every car seen on the roads. They are a sure sign of growing prosperity and a large middle class.

We also, only half-joking, suggest that the rise of the motorscooter is an economic incentive for family planning -- it can transport the whole family, as long as you have only two children.
