The river level is low for this time of year because there was little precipitation throughout New Mexico this past winter season.
Our area of southern New Mexico has had no rain since early October 2010. Because of the drought conditions the allocation
of irrigation water from upstream dams for Mesilla Valley farmers is very limited this year.
