Challenge 31 - Water

Challenge 31: WATER


Definitions of water on the Web:
binary compound that occurs at room temperature as a clear colorless odorless tasteless liquid; freezes into ice below 0 degrees centigrade and boils above 100 degrees centigrade; widely used as a solvent

That seems so cold and heartless - We are fortunate in Canada to enjoy an abundance (some would say an overabundance) of water. It comes in many forms, out of taps, fridges, clouds, and the ground. The challenge this week is to get creative with WATER.....your photo(s) should include water in some manner, whether outdoors or indoors, static or fluid (sorry about that). Water should be the subject of your photo(s).

Might be the right time to get brave and start fiddling with the shutter knob.


Up to three photos, posted up to and including late Monday night, Aug 30th. Voting August 31st and Sept 1st.

I think all pictures were winners. Going out there and making pictures is what it's all about I would think. FYI: The water drops and the water lens was done with a Canon 5D and the Canon 100mm macro lens and macro flash.

WOW! Particularly impressive were 6, 8 and 9. The location of 5 was fantastic - well scouted out. My vote is for 7, for all of the reasons listed below the photo.

My vote: #9. For the technical challenge.
That said, #8 is a very close second -- I like the colours and the theme of life as a source of nourishment.
#11 is original in its colours and sense of pattern in the reflections on the moving water. It looks as if someone either deliberately held something over the water to get that effect or else just happened to have a very good eye. Well done!

#8 gets my vote....love the depth of field and the colors. #9 came in close second.

I vote for #7. Couldn't decide if it was wet rock or black, choppy, stormy water.
Also like the blistering surface of #12.
