By the way, I did destroy my UV filter in the process.  Seems like the coating is a plastic like substance, and it was badly pock-marked. 

MORAL OF THE STORY:
Buy a UV filter for each and every one of your lenses !

I took the picture in the bright sunlight agains a black sheet of paper. I dropped a strawberry into a glass of club soda. Those pictures didn't work, so I took the strawberry out... and oh look, the club soda is now orange red and filtering the sun!

Mrs. Potatohead is now suing me, because apparently I'm responsible for Mr. Potatohead running off with the onion. Maybe I should introduce her to a nice rutabaga...

I scattered some glitter on a sheet of black paper and snapped the pic in bright sunlight. I darkened the black background in Photoshop by using the Levels settings.
