I am unworthy to make a negative comment, it's an amazing shot, almost picturesque, I love it. I am not sure if it's intentional or not, but there seems to be a lack of sharpness, almost sureal... painted almost. Perhaps it just that the point of foucs appears to me to be the lead horse's nostril, which I can't see so who's to say. Way cool, don't take it wrong. But recently I been browsing by lenses.... really sharp ones seem to catch my eye, like the nikkor 80-200 f/2.8. I can't help but wonder what this shot might have turned out thru it instead? Maybe it would have lost it's magic... Maybe it would have made it reach out and pull you in. Maybe the nikkor is for capturing and the lens used is a magic brush in which to paint the light upon... and all things have their place. Please, don't think of it as critizism in any way, just me wondering what makes the "perfect shot", film? camera? skill? timing? cosmic? Judging for this and your others, I am certain you are much futher along in answering those questions than I.
I feel like a jerk for even bringing it up on a shot I will leave a lifetime and perhaps never achive.
Congrats, Joe

This is my favourite, a wonderful shot - a question about the cropping though, the front horse legs have been cut out?

Fabulous shot and a great gallery. But, I would guess your sensor needs a good cleaning.
