Looking out from North Sawyer

We are looking back here at the "tee". We came in from the right off in the distance there. Notice there are no trees here. This was under ice as short as a 100 years ago. The pioneering plants are already set and the process of reforestation begins. When my navigation chart was made, this was still under ice and it shows me that I am in ice and I have no bottom features on the chart. We proceed with caution. We started into this channel in about 800 feet and then the bottom came up to 150 feet very, very fast. We had crossed over a submerged cliff. The bottom then again fell away to about 700 feet here. Last time I was here the wind was blowing and this was choked with pack ice and there was no way of getting in here. I was very careful to watch for a shift in the wind to have it start packing in here again.
