OK so on a rainy day you are forced to get creative (weird?) The set up for this shot is a table with two ladders on either side. A couple of cross boards about a foot and a half above the table and you lay a sheet of plexiglass across that. A couple of strobes on stands to light and the camera on a tripod above all of this looking straight down. Then some willing victims. Took some fiddling around for a bit to get everything right but the results are cool. Treat the plexiglass with some rain-X and then spray the glass with misted water. Each resulting bead of water is a micro lens. A small f stop was the final fix. Yes I was board....

Awesome! I've something similar elsewhere, but I can't remember. Thanks for sharing the technique! You've got some fantastic shots in your galleries. I was stationed in Ft. Richardson, Ak many years ago and now I wish I had gotten into this hobby then!
