On a recent trip up the Al-Can highway from Haines to Anchorage, we found a beautiful grizzly eating berries right beside the road. I was able to park right straight out in front of her and I climbed up into the back bed of the truck and was looking level across to her. This is about 20-30 feet away. Beautiful coat on this bear. This was at Kluane Lake area.

Beautiful creature and a great shot. I remember a similar event on the bus in Denali National Park - and she had her cubs with her.
