Clear and cold. These winds come out of the interior to the warmer coastal climate. It was 9 degrees when I shot this. The air was dead calm where I am sitting but up on top of Sheep creek the winds were 50 to 60 mph. We had a 155 knt wind up there this fall. Thats 155. It blew the wind tower down. Just below this wind swept mountain down at its base is the city of Juneau. When you are downtown on a clear day like this the ice that is being blown off the mountain looks like glitter falling in the bright sunshine.
