We live in Geilston Bay and a White Faced Heron regularly comes and sits on a neighbour’s roof. It is always alone. We’re not far from Geilston Bay.

Hi Barry,
Thanks for your comments. The White-faced Heron is the "common" heron seen widely in Tasmania, and known colloquially by a range of names, including "Blue Crane". The White-necked is rare in Tasmania, being a visitor from the Australian mainland, and over the past 40 years I've only seen it on a handful of occasions.
