The underside of Cloud Gate also has a mirrored finish and is sharply concave, reaching a somewhat pointed pinnacle approximately 12-15 feet above the ground. Visitors walking under the sculpture are enveloped in a kaleidoscope of reflections that changes constantly with the light and passers-by. It's mesmerizing.

With the sculpture's completion all plate seams have been removed and this "oomphalos" is more surreal and hypnotic than ever.
