NGC 6334

Cootamundra, NSW

NGC 6334, sometimes known as "The Cats Paw Nebula" is situated very close to the Galactic Equator and as such would be a very bright emission nebula if it were not obscured by several magnitudes of extinction. This whole area is awash with very faint emission nebula and is very difficult to see visually.
