The Lagoon Nebula or M 8

Cootamundra, NSW

This is the first light image taken with the new Moravian G2-8300 Mono CCD camera. This camera is fitted with LRGB-Ha6Nm filters and will be the primary imaging camera with the Takahashi FSQ-106ED.

Image detail: The Lagoon Nebula, M 8, NGC 6523, NGC 6526, IC 1271, Sh 2-28, LBN 25. This a bright Diffuse Nebula in the constellation of Sagittarius, shining at a magnitude of 5.00 and is some 17.00 arc minutes x 15 arc minutes in size.

Taken at the Prime Focus of the Takahashi FSQ-106ED in the light of Hydrogen Alpha (6Nm).
