IC 2944 or the Lambda Centauri Nebula is a diffuse nebula surrounding the star, Lambda Centauri, it is sometimes known as The Running Chicken Nebula and also Cr 249. It is difficult to detect visually and covers an area of around 60.0 arc minutes, shines at a listed magnitude of 4.50.
