The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent nongovernmental organization composed of representatives from national standards bodies from 162 countries working in the fields of industrial goods and services, agriculture, technology, and consumer goods. All the members of ISO are solely responsible for their own country’s standards and do not act on behalf of other member countries or have any voting rights as a single body.
