Burnswark hill is an almost flat topped hill, in Dumfriesshire, easily identifiable, in a prominent position, being visible from almost 20 miles away.There is a uni-vallate hill fort on top of the hill and large Roman Camps on the north side and the southern sides of the hill.A Roman Road runs around the western end of the hill.This became the low road into Scotland, from England.see http://www.pbase.com/taggart51/image/76016726
