Montreal, Canada - Just for Laughs Comedy Festival (July 2010)

For three weeks in July, Montréal is transformed into a comedy wonderland for the “Just For Laughs” festival (it was first founded in 1983 by Gilbert Rozon). It is one of the major events of the summer, bringing hoards of local people and tourists to enjoy the outdoor festival, which lasts well into the evening. Montréal is jam-packed with amazing shows, diverse artists, acrobats, pantomimes and spectacular talents. The world’s best comedians go every year to Montréal, from unknown talents, to today’s biggest stars, to tomorrow’s big names. Performing at “Just For Laughs” festival is one of the biggest opportunities for undiscovered talent to showcase their act and to gain recognition. Every year, the “Just For Laughs” festival gets bigger and bigger. The festival’s green mascot, “Victor” and his blond inflatable wife, “Rose,” have become well-known celebrities in Montréal. May the “Just For Laughs” festival continue to prosper in Montréal for years to come.
