PURE JOY - PURE LOVE

Princess's home

PRINCESS
She appeared at my house one day
Very much "with child"
Her eyes pleaded with my heart
A beautiful creature so meek and mild.

I needed only a second to say, "my home is yours"
And to let her know my words were true, I touched her face
I tenderly rubbed her round full belly
Where tiny beating hearts yearning for their place.

Nourishment was given, fresh water, a mat
I knew a sweet treasure was at hand
Her eyes of trust never leaving mine
Her gift, soon nine little pups, Me? well a thankful man.
