In July 2015, I had the opportunity to visit the island of Saint paul, Alaska. St. Paul is the largest of five volcanic islands that make up the Pribilofs and is located in the Bering Sea. The island is 40 square miles in area and is 14 miles long by 8 miles wide. The highest point is 665 feet or 203 metres above sea level. Approx, 500 people live on the island. The island is listed as an IBA-important bird area. Less than 500 people come to the island for the birding and bird photography each year. The bird experts are very knowledgable and helpful.
