We took a boat from the Grotto Esmeralda (where my pictures didn't turn out) so arrived in Amalfi by sea, with the stunning views of the city to our left. Amalfi is nothing less than spectacularly beautiful, again houses built into the cliffs, and rich colors all around. The bus ride back to Sorrento evokes great admiration for the drivers who negotiate the twists and turns along a road so narrow that it seems impossible that two vehicles could occupy the same lane.
