This magical place lies deep within northeast Michigan's Huron National Forest, a one mile walk from the highway on a "no vehicle" pathway. Not even bicycles are allowed. It is early Spring. No green or blooms have yet emerged, and the little color is only what remains from last season's fallen leaves. It was a beautiful day, with life quickly returning to the lake. As we quietly approached, Mergansers skirted the water's top and an Eagle flew over.
