Sanguinaria canadensis - Poppy Family (Papaveraceae)

I have a lifelong passion for botanical illustration, so for our photography,
we carry around black foam board and will sometimes photograph
a plant with the distracting background eliminated, in its
natural environment.

In this example, we brought the plant in from our back woods
and photographed it studio-style, bathed with sunlight
from a nearby open window.
