There is a shipwreck underwater here, right at the bottom of this
point, which is on the north side of the Lighthouse.
It is a popular spot for divers.

This wreck -- among many from that same disastrous storm -- was the
reason that Split Rock Lighthouse was built here,
finished in 1910.
