This is a sacred Lake named Khechopalri located in the north of Pelling. It is known
as the Wishing Lake and is worshipped by the Sikkimese people. It is a belief that any
stray leaf falling in the lake is picked up by birds to prevent contamination. My picture
displays a snipe (Water Bird) chasing a leaf floating in the water.
