While driving from Salmon, Idaho to Boise the other day I noticed one of the rocks in the river appeared to have ears...big ones.
So I stopped to make sure my eyes were not playing tricks on me and sure enough, there was a Mule Deer doe laying on a
small piece of ice attached to a rock in the river! Although the air temperature was 11 degrees, she seemed quite comfortable
considering where she was. She eventually walked to shore as the water was only a foot or so deep in this section.
