My little slice of astronomical heaven

An easy 40min drive from Canberra city, Wallaroo Observatory is at 600m ASL and enjoys
reasonably dark skies (Bortel 4) and almost unobstructed 360 deg views of the sky
with no bright direct lighting visible in any direction, making it ideal for astronomical
imaging and deep space research operations.

The Skywatcher 12" F4.9 GOTO Dob performed flawlessly on its opening night

It was easy to setup, collimate and align and Gotos were good enough to put everything in
a 10mm eyepiece, all over the sky!

Gave great views of planets, nebulae and galaxies as well as planetary nebulae and double stars
The six stars in the Trapezium of the Orion Nebula were cleanly separated pinpoints - very happy!
