Apart from NGC 2438, another smaller and what is a much fainter protoplanetary nebula and also
has the names of the Calabash Nebula or the Rotten Egg Nebula, can be found in M46 although like
NGC 2438 it is not actually in the cluster M46 but just a chance alignment.
