Nature inspires me the beauty of my surroundings, the grace of people and animals. I must pick up my pastels and paint. These are my everyday scenes which keep me grounded. As you can tell I have a thing about chickens. They are such fun. Pilot Mountain
or "Mount Pilot" from Mayberry is in my back yard so I am drawn to it as the light or season changes. I am truly blessed to live on a horse farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains where inspiration is never lacking.
Ever since I could hold a crayon, I have been called to draw. In 2014 and 2015 I took pastel courses at John Campbell Folk School and have been hooked ever since. In 2016 I retired and began devoting myself full time to my rediscovered passion.
I have exhibited at the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts Winston Salem, NC in the Community Canvas and Second Spring Exhibits
also 311 Gallery in Raleigh, NC in their Juried Show Eggistentialism 3.0
I am a featured local artist at Tim Bruce Galleries in King. I am a member of Art for Arts Sake, Associated Artists, Stokes County Arts Council and Surry Arts Council and have been nominated to the Board of Associated Artists. I previously served on the board of SECCA
