As to the white border..... I always mat my artwork to separate it from the background. I've always found photographs and paintings much more attractive and appealing when they are matted. Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea... but I always do it, and I like the effect greatly.

What better way to cope with summer heat? Thanks for taking us to the beach, Kathy. This is a great action shot, with huge thundering waves and a little girl hightailing it up the beach to escape them. What a great moment, incredibly good pose; what a great shot. The colours and the composition are very pleasing. The use of grain and the stylized post processing work very well here too. I'm not sure about the big white border. What's your idea with that?
