You left a bit too much of the pinkie intact, Justin, it's still got some use ;)
The way you processed this makes it feel hazy, like a scene during a bad dream. Nice work!

Thanks Kathy. Sorry I blew the illusion Inframan - or did I? Maybe I was lying! Maybe I'm typing this one-handed right now! ;)

Oh boo! You could at least have waited until the lights went on.
So much for magic. ;)

Thanks Dale. It's a fairly simple and fun efffect. Of course, the camera is on a tripod, in manual, and with the timer. I took 1 shot with my left hand on the cutting plate and nothing else. Then without moving the camera, I took a 2nd shot with only my right hand and the knife. I layered the second exposure over the first, and used the eraser tool to erase away the area where the left hand is so it would show through. Because the background's identical, the only part that requires attention is where the fingers meet the knife. Converted to B&W, added a little 'blood' with the airbrush tool, and voila!

This is weird it two ways. The image and what it represents of course, and that I am wracking my brain to see if I can duplicate the idea. Not the actual idea but the concept. Think I have it nailed but would welcome a cheat sheet if you have the inclination. Dale

Thanks guys. My mind doesn't usually think of this kind of thing...but as you can see it was late at night and I was just going through the galleries commenting - so my mind was full of strange images and ideas!

Scary, Justin - that you would even think of this scenario ;-)
Great work, though!

OUCH! Justin, this is too real. And yes I really hate when this happens ... Sorry, your entry is so good, I cannot look at it any longer!
