This was a display at San-A supermarket. The Japanese traditionally send presents to friends and business associates twice a year (the New Year's presents are known as Oseibo), and all the stores are full of presents boxed like these. You probably can't see it, but in the cat gift pack on the right, the traditional wrapping (with what looks like an upside-down necktie on it) actually has little paws printed across it. The sign says: "San-A original pet gift for Christmas. Great for Oseibo, as well."
