I have to say I like the wide angle view of the beach. Gives the photo feeling, and makes you see what is at risk. Nice shot. I wouldn't crop it more myself...
I had 3 people looking over my shoulder as we all agonized how best to crop this photo. I tried several different versions and almost just cropped in real tight to show the woman's feet in the air with the water dripping off her sneakers, but felt it could look like snow. We watched this balloon bobbing back and forth between beach and ocean and I finally went down to the beach to go get it so it wouldn't hurt the sea life, but this woman came out of no where and braved the waves to save the environment. This is close to the original photo and I would indeed welcome alternative crops chosen by forum memberss. Thank you for commenting.

I love the drama of the moment and would re-crop: a little less beach, a little narrower field of vision. (Rule of thirds). Erichocinc
